Vulnerability Analyst

Location: Brussels
Start Date: March 1st, 2025
Nationality: European Citizenship (must be clearable, level EU-Secret)

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Vulnerability Analyst will be responsible for conducting vulnerability assessments, identifying system weaknesses, and recommending remediation strategies to minimize risk exposure.The ideal candidate will play a key role in improving security measures and ensuring compliance with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments to identify, analyze, and mitigate security risks.
  • Lead team meetings to streamline the vulnerability remediation process, ensuring efficient communication and timely resolution of security issues.
  • Utilize Splunk for monitoring, reporting, and improving detection rules (using SPL - Search Processing Language).
  • Develop and create dashboards to enhance security visibility and incident response.
  • Conduct security awareness training for various teams, providing actionable guidance on vulnerability remediation and explaining potential impacts.
  • Configure security tools such as Burp, Nessus, and Nexpose.
  • Generate and analyze weekly vulnerability scan reports.
  • Provide threat intelligence reports and recommendations to relevant teams.
  • Assist in defining security baselines and compliance measures.
  • Support in creating QRadar rules for detecting security incidents, including:
  • Defining rules for specific threat scenarios (e.g., brute force attacks, data exfiltration).
  • Implementing QRadar rules aligned with the MITRE ATT&CK framework to detect TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures) used by attackers.
  • Utilize API and Python scripting for automation and security analysis.
  • Maintain familiarity with vulnerability classification standards, including CVE, CVSS, and EPSS.
  • Provide activity reports to management, demonstrating service SLA compliance and security performance metrics.
