For our customer a specialist in steel we are looking for a Project Engineer.

  • You will lead and manage a range of NPI/ Engineering Change projects through the project life cycle from sales handover to full production, reporting directly to the Project Manager (based in the UK).
  • Working closely with our Suppliers/ Customers and internal cross-functional teams you will ensure that quality parts are delivered to our world class Customers on time, in scope and within budget.

Main duties are:

  • Ensuring the standardised APQP process is followed with all supporting documentation present and accounted for
  • Lead and organise technical reviews with the supplier, assessing supplier control processes and ensuring correct validation of all PPAP/ quality documentation.
  • Working with the supplier, providing technical leadership to ensure samples and pre-production parts are delivered appropriately and on time.
  • Review the supplier manufacturing process to ensure it is capable of achieving repeatable quality over the product life.
  • Develop a close working relationship with the customer, being the key technical contact, understanding and managing the customer specifications/ promoting the voice of the customer during the project phase and after completion.
  • Ensure PPAP completion and approval prior to production handover and delivery of the new parts.
  • Creation and maintenance of the project tracking timeline and project files.

Our client, situated in Genk, is looking for an engineer Vision Expert. 

They have launched an ambitious programme to increase the level of quality in its European facilities.Improving product control is a key element of this programme, particularly by enhancing the use of Automatic Surface Inspection Systems (ASIS) in our cold mill in Genk. 

Your main accountabilities: 

  • Increase the usage of the current equipments
  • Enhance defect recognition and classification, with the support of local Quality Control and/or by using innovative learning techniques
  • Develop automatic coil grading
  • Train different users (control, allocation, …)
  • Upgrade current equipment
  • In collaboration with the suppliers, develop new functionalities that meet the needs of the users: new type of defect, new display, …
  • Develop classification algorithm, in cooperation with suppliers and by using innovative learning techniques
  • Support the installation of new devices
  • Define the specifications
  • Meet potential suppliers
  • Coordinate the installation, in relationship with maintenance and engineering
  • Develop classification algorithm, in cooperation with suppliers and by using innovative learning techniques
  • Train the users
  • Apply vision on existing cameras
  • Extract and process streaming video / images from existing and / or new matrix or line scan cameras using open source software
  • Integration in IT architecture
  • Develops knowledge of ASIS data usage (link with visual inspection, link with supply chain systems, link with data platform project, link with data science studies) and integration of ASIS in IT architecture
