You will be a member of the SMT Africa.Finance department and will report to the Head of Finance.You will be in charge of reviewing monthly closing and reporting of your subsidiaries for all Aftersales Services.You will also manage the key performance indicators as well as coordinate the annual budget process for Aftersales Services.

As a Business Controller, you will be responsible for the following tasks for your subsidiaries:

  • Responsible for the analysis of the monthly reporting package, of the key financial ratios for your countries ;
  • Active involvement in the monthly closing work with local team ;
  • Participation to the monthly Aftersales Business Reviews ;
  • Coordinate the budget process of your subsidiaries (once a year) and forecast of the entities (twice a year) ;
  • Support the countries' profitability by activity, and help in the overall performance tracking ;
  • Be a real business partner to your stakeholders : Managing Directors & Aftersales Directors ;
  • Aftersales Performance Tracking for all the subsidiaries ;
  • Monitor all key actions impacting performance with particular attention to Aftersales ;
  • Participate in the development and follow-up of key reports in Power BI
  • Your visits to Africa (subject to global situation, of course) will help you to better assess the situation and support the entities ;
  • Be an ambassador of the Group's policies as well as for the continuous improvement of accounting and business control procedures.

 With your extensive experience in finance, controlling and project management, you'll bring strategic and operational insights in technology as a value driver for Mediahuis’ Publishing business and all economical aspects of TPS as Mediahuis’ inhouse technology company Here are some key responsibilities:

  • Ensure Cost Efficiency and Business Value delivery: Continuously monitor the investments & costs of the inhouse technology company TPS in relation to the economic and strategic impact for the Publishing Business of Mediahuis, providing detailed insights on financial performance and proactively addressing potential risks and opportunities in alignment with Mediahuis' strategic goals.
  • Analyze Key Metrics: Evaluate and interpret financial and operational ratios to provide a clear perspective on our technology initiatives' economic impact.
  • Lead Planning and Reporting Processes: Coordinate recurring processes such as management reporting, budgeting exercises, forecasting, and target setting to align financial objectives with business goals.
  • Deliver Quality Reporting: Oversee the accuracy, relevance, and timely delivery of economic and performance reporting.
  • Drive Efficiency Projects: Lead various projects, focusing primarily on efficiency improvements and actively contribute to the growth of our technology-driven initiatives.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Lead the technology controlling team in Belgium and work closely with several other financial teams like our Accounting Shared Services Center (ASSC).
  • Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, dedicating significant time to collaborating with the technology department and leadership teams.
  • Support Technology Leadership Team: As a member of the technology management team, you’ll work directly with the CEO of Technology and provide financial insights that support the entire leadership team.
