The Human Resources Manager is an integral part of Latham's Human Capital & Talent team.This exciting role will be responsible for supporting the office, Human Capital & Talent department, and the firm by using their experience and understanding of the legislative, judicial, and competitive market landscape, while providing HR advice and guidance to stakeholders on a range of complex HR matters, including employee relations and performance management.This role will be located in our Brussels office.Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Other key responsibilities include:
  • In conjunction with firm leadership, developing and implementing the Human Capital & Talent strategy for the relevant office; working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Providing advice and guidance to stakeholders on firm policies, procedures, and best practices; ensuring compliance with firm policies and procedures and laws and regulations as required
  • Ensuring successful implementation of strategic Human Capital & Talent initiatives
  • Overseeing the implementation of Human Capital & Talent operational projects, providing advice and guidance where necessary to ensure projects are delivered successfully and by required deadlines
  • Working closely with Staff Development & Training to identify training opportunities for the office, helping design and conduct training and development programmes and supporting the development, implementation, and assessment of ongoing training programs

You will be IT technically responsible for 

  • managing IT Infrastructure & Information Systems Security project portfolios 
  • drawing up the infrastructure roadmap and its changes

You will draw up the Infrastructure and Security Roadmap in collaboration with the Security Officer and the Infrastructure Architect, and oversee its implementation (€1.5m/year).In collaboration with the Architects, you will define the guidelines for infrastructure principles and ensure that they are applied.

Key Responsibilities

  • Periodical Account Closings: Oversee the entire process of periodical closings, from the initial planning stages to the final approval and submission of consolidation packages to the Head Office.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with evolving accounting and taxation regulations, ensuring compliance with both local and international standards (BGAAP and IFRS) in collaboration with specialized teams.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit comprehensive internal and external accounting and taxation reports, along with other mandatory financial documents required by authorities.
  • Tax Management: Manage all aspects of corporate income tax, VAT, and other taxes, including the filing process, prepayments, and coordination of inspections.
  • Fiscal Affairs: Oversee the fiscal responsibilities for our operations in France.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls within accounting processes to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as SOX.
  • Accounts Payable: Supervise the accounts payable function, including the implementation of e-invoicing in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Intercompany Services: Manage the recharge process for services provided by the Belgian branch to other entities within the group.
  • OPEX Planning and Forecasting: Lead the planning and forecasting activities related to operating expenses.
  • This position is based in Brussels.After an initial integration period of four months, there will be an opportunity to work remotely.
